“This state wide award gives us the certainty that we are doing the best for our employees by motivating them to take healthy decisions and set the example among their peers and the community,” said Ms. Aguirre.
Yuma, Arizona.- The continuous efforts of Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. to support and promote a healthy lifestyle among its staff were recognized during the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program annual recognition event held at Steele Indian School Park’s Memorial Hall, in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 23, 2016.
Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of RCBH, stated that the non-profit organization which has been served Yuma, La Paz, and Mohave Counties for the last decades is very proud to be one of the Copper award recipients of the program.
“This state wide award gives us the certainty that we are doing the best for our employees by motivating them to take healthy decisions and set the example among their peers and the community,” said Ms. Aguirre.
Mr. Javier Morales, Director of Public Health Initiatives, received the award on behalf of Ms. Aguirre.
During the ceremony of recognitions 44 agencies and businesses from across the state were recognized with Copper, Silver and Gold awards for their worksite wellness program strategies.
According to the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program website, the awards seek to recognize employers that are making evidence-based efforts to support the health and well-being of their employees and their families.
The Copper award level recognizes a business that has taken the initial steps to receive worksite health training, gain leadership support, begin organizational assessment, create infrastructure supports and fashion an introductory worksite health improvement plan.
The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) is a statewide program that provides Arizona employers with training, technical assistance, tools, and resources to design, implement, and evaluate worksite wellness initiatives. HAWP also works to create linkages between Arizona businesses engaging in healthy worksite efforts so they can learn from each other and share experiences.
