Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. to celebrate Groundbreaking ceremony for the first ever hospital to be constructed in the border Community of San Luis, Arizona

San Luis, AZ.- The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc (RCBH). under the leadership of President & CEO Amanda Aguirre will begin construction of the first Rural Community Hospital to be built in the border Community of San Luis, Arizona that has an estimated 50,000+ residents. The Rural Community Hospital will feature 16 beds, an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Services, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Dietetic Services and a Helipad. The plans are designed with the intent to expand to 40 beds to meet the future needs of the rapidly growing community. This project is a 75 Million Dollar investment by RCBH that will complement services offered already at the RCBH San Luis Medical Mall. The Hospital will be constructed in the adjacent parcel, directly behind the Medical Mall.

According to Ms. Aguirre, “Our number one goal is to serve the people that we have been serving since 1987, and with that comes the responsibility to build something that will be sustainable for generations to come”.

Once constructed, the San Luis Hospital “Border Health Medical Campus” will provide a home to the newly accredited ACGME Family Medicine Residency Program and will serve as a Teaching Health Center. ACGME is the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. built the first permanent, full-time clinic in San Luis in 2001, bringing full time primary care to the families of San Luis which included pediatrics, OBGYN, and family medicine.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 151 S. Oak Avenue in San Luis at 10:30 AM. Media is invited to attend.
