Yuma, Arizona.- The challenges of social work will be discussed by experts in the area at the 5th Annual Yuma Social Work Month Celebration to be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2017, from 9:00 AM to12:00 PM.
The event is organized by event creator Maggie Swift Cady, MSW, LCSW, Board Member of Arizona Chapter for the National Association of Social Workers, and presented by the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. and the Western Area of Health Education Center (WAHEC).
This year’s theme is “Social Workers Stand Up”, said Ms. Cady, who added that the event is important for professional social workers and students. “The intent has been to enhance our professional identity, support social work students, create and atmosphere for networking, and bring relevant training local providers.”
Keynote speaker will be Committee member Dr. Jeremy Goldbach, who will discuss the process and status of the Grand Challenges for Social Work initiative.
The 5th Annual Yuma Social Work Month Celebration will be held at the Yuma County Main Library, located at 2951 South 21st Drive, in Yuma, AZ.
